To install Linux on an Android phone without saying goodbye to normal use of its device, there is a risk-free solution called Linux Deploy. This software available on the PlayStore allows to recover a distribution Debian, Ubuntu, Arch Linux, Fedora, Kali ... etc and to mount it in a chroot environment.

This makes it possible to coexist a version of Linux with your Android. The Linux distribus will not be directly usable from the phone, with the desktop interface, a keyboard and a mouse unless you go through VNC (local or remote from your computer) or via SSH (for the command line).
For my test, I installed Kali Linux, which you may know before under the name of Backtrack is a distrib dedicated to computer security and pentest.
By going to the Kali Linux, site you can if you wish to recover an ISO that you can boot on your computer, your Chromebook, your Galaxy Note or even your Raspberry Pi ... But if you have an Android phone in rab ' Know that it is also possible to install Kali Linux on it thanks to Linux Deploy.
To do this, you need a phone capable of running Android 2.1 at a minimum, 5 GB of free space, a wifi connection and a little time ...
Launch Linux Deploy on your phone and select Kali Linux on the "Distribution" tab and press the
"Install" button. Kali will then download and install.

Remember to change the installation path if you want to install it elsewhere (SD card ... etc). Linux Deploy will mount and load the Kali image and start the SSH, VNC ... etc services so that you can connect remotely from a computer to your phone to use this distribution.
For info, the password VNC is "changeme" and for SSH, the login is "android" and the password "changeme".
Finally, rest assured, once again, everything is reversible. The environments are just mounted in chroot by Linux Deploy and will cohabit with your Android.
